Q: 4g iPad needs wifi to stream even with 4g SIM card ?

I Have iPad Air 4g+wifi and it is equipped to ee 4g network .

The main problem is I bought this to watch TV videos of mine from cloud but on this generation of ipad

it requires a wifi network . When accessing video it comes up with "will not work on cellular network please access wifi" ,but if I tether to iphone which is a cellular network it works .

what is point of buying cellular items if they are useless with out network

this ability was available on previous models when doing same .

when attempting to watch on phone it also asks you to join wifi network and if you tether to ipad network it works that way .......?

am i not seeing something or is this the way it is now .
