Q: how to update from iOS 6.1.6

I have software iOS 6.1.6 and it wont let me download the app FitBit. says i need to update my software, but itunes says that its up to date. how can i change that or download FItBit?

    1. You can't. A device running iOS 6.1.6 isn't capable of running iOS 7 or above.

    2. Download the current version of it to a computer or compatible iOS device, click here, and try following the instructions.

    It sounds like you have an iPod Touch 4G which is only able to be upgraded to iOS 6.1.6. It is not capable of running anything newer then that. Since FitBit requires a newer version of iOS, you can't install it. If you want to install it, you must upgrade your hardware.

    So i can't download it until i get a new ipod?

    It isn't possible to tell; the system requirements listed in the iTunes App Store are the ones for the current version. See #2 above.
