Hello. I use Mac Messages to text people from my computer. I have one contact who uses a Samsung Galaxy S3, Android 4.3. This is the only person in my network that I cannot communicate via Mac Messages. The number is red and says "not registered with iMessage). I can text her from my phone. Can you tell me what configuration she needs (or I need) to make this connection? Thanks.

If the problem is that cellular text messages are not forwarded from your iPhone, follow the instructions in this support article, under the heading
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Is your phone an iPod that is compatible with Continuity and is your Mac compatible with Continuity. If not that the Apple Messages app will not text to a device without the Apple Messages app.
Just to be clear before I make global modifications at my end... it appears that I am only having this issue with one contact -- the Samsung. This sounds like a setting on her end, not mind. This problem exists on my two different macs. I can text her from my phone without a problem -- I cannot text/message her from either of my two computers.
Can a Mac receive Messages from that one phone? If so can a Mac successfully reply?
The only way you can send text messages from a Mac to a non-Apple phone is by forwarding them to an iPhone.
Without asking everyone I text, that means that ALL of my contacts have iPhones except for this one person. I just checked my iMessage and I have texted about a dozen different people the last few days -- it appears the all have iPhones.
The imessage is only between the apple products, there is no configuration needed, jst make sure that you are sending to contact num instead of email id
