Aug 13, 2015 7:42 AM in response to KunzeofRunnellsby judysings,Hello KunzeofRunnells,
Do you and your wife share the same iTunes Library or do you have separate user accounts on your Mac. Is the Mac updated to the latest version of iTunes? If these items were purchased from iTunes, they can be redownloaded. I'll include a few links below with more details.

If you made a backup of these items on your Mac or PC, you can sync the items to your iOS device. You can't download these items again from iTunes in the Cloud.

Jan 7, 2016 9:54 AM in response to KunzeofRunnellsby hnnhtwd,I was having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 6 after I upgraded my iMac to the latest OS (Yosemite). Here's what I did that worked:
I closed iTunes.
In Finder, I located my iTunes Library.
I renamed my iTunes Library. (Pick any name you like).I re-opened iTunes, and when it gave me an error message saying it could not locate the iTunes library, I directed it to the newly renamed library.
I synced my phone.Problem fixed.
For some reason, making iTunes relocate the iTunes library somehow solved the problem, and now all my audio files are syncing to my phone just fine—no error message.

Apr 13, 2016 5:15 PM in response to KunzeofRunnellsby bearoness,I only had 11 songs that wouldn't sync. It is a bit infuriating that iTunes won't let me print or save a list of these files.
I just made a list of the songs, then played each one. Everything synched just fine after that. It's strange, and disappointing. iTunes used to be such a great application, but it ****** me off on a regular basis these days.
