Aug 11, 2015 9:24 AM in response to lllaassby Bobby Hydrospray,My apologies the Mac Mini is late 2012 and only has 1 Thunderbolt port. Tried the SMC and still no luck. Is there a way of checking the ports through system preferences to see if it is fried?
Also if it is fried is it a simple fix ?

Do you see anything on the screen during bootup with the Option key depressed. If not then it is not a software problem.

Aug 11, 2015 9:54 AM in response to Bobby Hydrosprayby lllaass,- That is what it should look like with no Thunderbolt device connected. However, if a video device is connected it still looks like that since video is NOT Thunderbolt.

Aug 11, 2015 10:53 AM in response to lllaassby Bobby Hydrospray,OK thanks. I might try to hook up the cinema display via the hdmi port if i can find a connector. If that works then I can save up for a Genius Bar visit as the Mac Mini is no longer under warranty.
Thanks for your help.

Aug 11, 2015 12:30 PM in response to Bobby Hydrosprayby woodmeister50,Are you referring to the non-Thunderbolt 27" Cinema display or an even earlier type
that needs an adapter for the connection?
If it is one that requires an adapter, I would try a new adapter.
If it is the Thunderbolt display, if you have an extra Thunderbolt cable around, try plugging it from the Mini
to the Thunderbolt port on the Thunderbolt Display. This would tell you if it is the Mini or the Thunderbolt Display cable.

Aug 11, 2015 12:35 PM in response to woodmeister50by lllaass,The poster said the display still works when connected to another computer.
However its not the Cinema Display that is faulty as it works fine when connected to my MBA.
Thus that would rule out all ut the Mini
