AARP recommended an iPod Shuffle as the easiest to use for music for an elderly person, but I'm having difficulty locating a charging speaker for it that will plug into the wall. My mom has dementia and needs something very simple. Any suggestions?

If you have a Best Buy in the area, you can check them. Another place to search may be iHome. They have a great number of products that support Apple products. Just that the charging for the Shuffle is different than most other products. If there is an Apple Store close buy, check with them.
As for the speaker part, nothing beats the iHome for $20. Fabulous sound quality. If you want speaker and charger I think that may limit you to any Apple or Apple compatible product.
