Q: Copy iBooks PDF files from iPad Air to MacBook Air

Aug 11, 2015 10:57 AMby elcpu,Can you connect to your new Air and select setting as a New iPad instead of syncing with what is on the Air. First go to your Air, iTunes, Preferences (under iTunes), devices, and make sure "prevent ipods..... from syncing automatically" is checked. Then connect your iPad to it and set it as a new iPad.
Clicking "Set up as new iPad" will not erase it, it will only back it up to your computer. Take a look at this thread but ignore the early comments and start with a post by ozZySPL. All of the posts in the thread you pointed me to also say to click on "set up as new iPad". I feel like Mr. Pitt in the Seinfeld episode when he can't see the 3D image!

Maybe the best route would be to transfer the data from your old Mac to your new one:
Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support
How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support
If that fails check these:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device

Your first suggestion sounded like a good one, but why wasn't I presented with a "setup as new iPad" link? A lot of the other posts you referred me to talk about the same link, as though everybody knows where it is…but not me! Sounds like I might just have resort emailing each PDF to myself one-by-one. Ugh!!!!

Aug 11, 2015 6:54 PMby elcpu,Ugh is right!!! How many do you have? Another thought is to use AirDrop to your new Mac. Do you know how to use AirDrop? It would be faster than emailing, still not ideal but much better.
