Q: Read speeds fast, write speeds slow - XSAN 4 - All new FC components upgraded
Hello,
We recently upgraded all of our fiber channel components (FC cables and FC transceivers) to 8Gbps in our SAN system, since we were having speed issues with our various components.
Since the upgrade we have seen a huge improvement with speeds transferring data from the SAN volume to the client machine, but we still see have slow data transfer speeds going onto the SAN volume from a client machine. A 29.01GB file takes 4 minutes to transfer from the SAN volume, but takes 22 minutes to transfer onto the SAN volume. Any idea why this is happening? Maybe something in our XSAN 4 configuration settings? Our system details are below. Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated.
1 Mac Mini running server (Yosemite 10.10.4; Server 4.1.3)
1 ActiveStorage RAID (24TB; 2TB Metadata, 22TB Volume storage)
6 client machines (iMacs running Yosemite 10.10.4)
Qlogic SANBox 5800
Fiber Transceivers- JDSU PLRXPL-VC-SH4-23-N
Fiber Cable- FIBER JUMPER AQUA 50/125 MM DUP LC-LC 10M
