Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that your Apple TV is restarting on its own while viewing Netflix. I can imagine this would be an extremely frustrating issue, so in order to get this fixed I'd like you to please restore your Apple TV to its factory settings.
Restore your Apple TV to factory settings
If you can get to the Apple TV main menu, try the steps below. If you can't get to the main menu, skip to the next section.
- Choose Settings > General > Reset.
- Choose Restore.
This process restores your Apple TV to factory settings and downloads and installs the latest software. Your account information and settings (for example, your Apple ID or Netflix password) will be erased as well. Once the restore is complete, you'll need to re-enter this information.
The restore process might take some time. Don't disconnect your Apple TV's power cable during the process.

Take care.

Aug 20, 2015 1:02 AM in response to alex_h1by Nicholas Collins1,Hi Alex: Thanks for attempting to help me. I followed your instructions precisely and restored to the factory defaults and reinstalled all new software. Unfortunately after restoring to the factor defaults, the problem reoccurred and Netflix continues to get choppy and then the Apple TV reboots. Sadly, I've all but given up hope, since I know this is an issue directly related to the Apple TV, given that Netflix works great on my Mac, iPhone, iPad and my smart TV apps. Think it might be time for a Roku. Appreciate the effort But this didn't really help my situation.
