Q: How can I transfer play count onto a new computer?

I got a new computer and all I want to do is transfer the play count from my old one to my new one. I noticed you can export your library, but then it creates a weird file that I am unfamiliar with and I'm not sure what to do with that. Another attempt was with homeshare. I noticed under preferences you can share play count throughout different computers. I tried that, imported my whole library from my other computer, but lost the play count. I even tried what itunes recommended and copied onto an external drive. Same problem with the homeshare.

Does anyone have any solutions to this? I'm getting quite frustrated and could use all the help I can get. Thank you!
