Q: IPhone 5s restoring problem

Hey guys so I have been having a problem with trying to restore my iPhone 5s. The reason I am trying to restore it is because my iPhone 5s won't turn on anymore I hold the power button and the apple logo pops up but then disappears within seconds. I had the battery replaced so Its not a battery life issue.  When I plug my phone I'n a message pops up saying that I need to restore my iphone to update my phone to the newest ios 8.4. It'll go through the restoring process but once the bar gets close to being filled on my iphone. Just as it is about done restoring. I look at my iTunes and my phones has disappeared on the screen and the restoration stops. Then my phone screen turns black. Then seconds later turns back on with the white screen and black apple logo. iTunes picks up my iphone and I get the same message saying my phone needs to be restored to update

I will also  get two error codes. "The iphone "iphone" could not be updated. An unknown error has occurred. (27)." And the other one is "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred. (3014)."

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

    Hello there, Schmolls05.

It sounds like you're getting two specific error messages when restoring your iPhone 5s to iOS 8.4.  The following Knowledge Base article references both error messages to help with troubleshooting:

Get help with iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support

    Error 27 indicates the following:

    Check for hardware issues

    Errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 53, 56, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.

Your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.

    1. Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
    2. Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
    3. Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
    4. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

If you still see the error message, check for outdated or modified software.

When you click the link for error 3014 at the top of the article, you are linked to this page for help in resolving that error:

If you see Error 3194, Error 17, or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' in iTunes - Apple Support

Start with the initial recommendation and work your way down the document:

If iTunes can’t communicate with Apple's software update server, you might see one of these messages.

    • Error 17
    • Error 1639
    • Errors 3000-3020
    • Error 3194
    • Errors 3100-3999
    • This device isn't eligible for the requested build

If you see one of these messages and need help updating or restoring your iOS device, install the latest version of iTunes and try to update or restore again. If you need more help, follow the steps below.

I had same problem too, I dropped my phone and it didn't even turn on, I thought Screen must be broken in the inside, then I unplugged all of the cables from the board and plugged it back. It turned on, but didn't continue. When I connect my iPhone 5S to iTunes, it says You must have to restore the phone before you use it, I've tried many times, but didn't work. (Restore fails) So I went to the Phone Service, they said RAM is broken. And its costs like 80EUR. But haven't got fixed it yet. So I recommend you to try Mobile Service.

    Apologize for my bad English.
