i need help for garage band

Can you be a little bit more specific with "Can't hear anything"

What did you do exactly, dragged the Loops onto a Track, what Track (Software Instrument or Audio)

Can you hear other things, i.e. new recordings you make.

You said, you just downloaded GarageBand. Do you have any experience with GarageBand (previous versions) other DAWs. Do you know what to do (had a peek at the User Guide)?

About Previewing the Loops in the Loops Browser:

Clicking on a Loop will start the Preview (the blue or green icon changes to a speaker symbol). Clicking again will stop the preview (or just click on a different Loop).

IMPORTANT: Make sure the Volume Slider at the bottom of the Loop Browser is up

Once you dragged a Loop onto the Track Lane of a Track

• Is the Volume Slider on that Track up
• Can you record on that Track, if yes, can you hear that Region?
• In case of a MIDI Loop, do you have an Instrument Plugin Loaded (that functions as the MIDI sound module)

Maybe you can post a screenshot of your Project that might give a clue what is going on.

GarageBand has no problem to export your song to mp3 to any location on your drive (specify in the Save Dialog).

Upgrading to Logic might solve your problem. Logic is a very "deep" program with a steep learning curve, that is easier to manage when you have already a solid foundation in GarageBand X.

The key to both apps (or to any app in general) is to learn its functionality. Often times it is pilot error and not necessarily a bug (although they do exist). In case you want't to learn GarageBand or even Logic, I have written bestselling books for both apps in my "Graphically Enhanced Manuals" (GEM) series.
