Q: Swipe on Magic Mouse doesn't go back to the previous page

After installing Yosemite, swiping to the right on my Magic Mouse doesn't bring me back to the previous page.

Do you also have this issue?

Cheers,

    Hello GreatJay,

I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue after your recent upgrade to Yosemite. If your other actions and Multi-Touch gestures appear to be working with your Magic Mouse, except for page navigation, you may want to double check that this function wasn't inadvertently turned off. The option should be under the Other Gestures tab in the Mouse preference pane of System Preferences. You may may find the information about various Multi-Touch settings outlined in the following article helpful:

    Thanks for your reply, Branden.

If I'm right, the first link only describes the TrackPad rather than the Magic Mouse.

And I tried to change the sliders according to the second link... but that doesn't change much I'm afraid.

As a matter of fact, it seems that it depends how much info is changing on the page.

    Thanks anyway!

    Cheers

    Hi GreatJay,

The article in the first link should apply to both Multi-Touch trackpads/Magic Trackpad and to the Magic Mouse. In some cases the gesture is the same; in others where it is different, there are separate listings for the trackpad and the mouse. For example:

    Swipe to navigate

Web pages in Safari, documents in Preview and more, just like thumbing a page in a book. Note: If there is horizontal content to scroll, this gesture will first scrolls to the end of content and then it will move to the next page.

    • Magic Trackpad – A horizontal two finger swipe will show the next or previous page. Tip: Once you pass the rubber-band threshold, lift your fingers to change page.  Also you can flick your fingers at the end of the swipe for momentum.

    • Magic Mouse –  A horizontal one finger swipe will show the next or previous page.

With regard to the second article, were you able to find the Other Gestures tab in the Mouse preference pane?

    Regards

    Hi Nubz N.

    Thanks for your clarification.

Unfortunately, it didn't solve my issue.

    Thanks anyway.
