I just wish to change my password for my iCloud email....NOT my Apple ID.

I don't use iCloud email, but I found this with a Google search.

I don't use iCloud mail aliases either, but MY Google Site search of " change icloud email password site:support.apple.com " seems to indicate that your Apple ID password IS your iCloud email password...

I Think that you are correct and if you click on the link that I provided, i believe that it just mimics the same steps that Apple's support article describes.
