Would you buy a mac book or a mac air?

I am about to buy a new 'puter - Don't do much other than emails and web searches and streaming stocks... Would you buy a mac book with the single power outlet or a mac book air? I would like retina display for theses old eyes and lightweight. Let me hear your knowledgeable input and if you would direct me to some VERY UP TO THE MINUTE reviews please.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

For your usage the 2015 MacBook should be fine. Though you could get a much more powerful MacBook Air cheaper but it won't have a Retina Display.

The port on the MacBook is not just a power input, its also a USB port. It works via adapters to connect things like Monitors, external drivers, and other USB devices.
