Q: texts are being sent as mine through another phone

If your Dad's phone is showing you are sending a text message to his phone, but from your Mom's phone number, then first thing he needs to do is verify his contacts are configured correctly. He needs to make sure her phone number is on her contact, and your phone number is on your own. If that is configured correctly, then make sure that your Apple ID is not signed in to your Mother's iPhone iMessage Settings.
