How can I remove lens noise from audio track?

Hello.

I recorded some video project with Nikon D5300 and I use build-in microphone for sound. I am beginner on this camera and still exploring it.

There is a lens noise that i want to remove, I try basic options that Final Cut Pro 10.1.4 version has, but I feel I need more help and maybe out of Final Cut limitations.

Can anyone help me on this or has a similar problem before. Thanks

Final Cut Pro X, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

to make it vanish, I dare to say, that's a difficult task.

But the 'noise' from the zoom-motor, or from the cooling-fan is - imho - very low/only noticeable in very quiet surroundings - my FZ1000 has a 'loud' fan too, I'm aware of this problem ... - three options, I frequently use:

  • lower the volume from this part - it IS a quiet scene 😁
  • replace it completely with some other 'room tone'… if you didn't record it on location, FCPX has some in its audio library ...
  • cover it with music...

Without actually hearing the audio it's tough to gauge.

GENERALLY speaking it's not very easy to do for a number of reasons

1. I'm not familiar with that exact camera, however many cameras will compress the raw audio making it difficult to isolate the frequency you're trying to remove without affecting the rest of the audio

2. Even if you do have the raw high quality audio file, it's not as simple as going *click click remove lens noise -> boom done*

3. The built in audio tools for final cut are not exactly designed for this either - I mean you can tweak an audio file (lots) but you can't exactly remove anything.

I personally think you're hooped
