Can't drag pictures from Photos into WeTransfer

From iPhoto v9.6.1 to WeTransfer in Safari 8.0.7, I have always been able to drag & drop pictures from the album view directly into the Drop Like Its Hot area. The picture's file name then appears in the Add More Files listing, and the files are successfully transferred.

The new Apple Photos application v1.0.1 does not complete this process. There, dragging a photo from the album view onto WeTransfer makes the Drop Like Its Hot indicator in the dashed outline appear normally, but dropping it causes the Friend's Email field to open up. Nothing appears in the email field. Also the picture file does not appear in the Add More Files listing and does not transfer.

WeTransfer tech support says it is a problem with the new Photos app.

Is there another way to easily move pictures from Apple Photos into WeTransfer without exporting the files into the Finder? Will an upcoming update to Photos allow this again?

Are you accessing WeTransfer via Safari? Then use the Media browser in Safari to access the photos for upload to WeTransfer:

It is a technical problem with Safari

one possible way is to upload to WeTransfer from the media browser (in every upload /attach/open window under media ==> Photos ==> Photos )

Otherwise no - you have to export and use the exported photos

Mr. Toad,

I was unaware that Safari / File / Open file / allowed access to that many things, especially everything within Photos. Amazing what happens when you scroll down far enough.

That did what I was looking for.

Try exporting the photos from Photos.
