Why does my iPhone 4s keep restarting itself randomly throughout the day?

I have had my iPhone 4s for some time now and I've had my fair share of ups and downs with it, but this time I don't know why this is happening and so I don't know how to fix it. What happens is that randomly throughout the day, everyday, whether or not I'm using it, it will just restart itself. There is nothing specific that I am doing or not doing when this happens. As far as I can tell there is no reason it is happening. Can anyone please help me fix this?
