If you are sending these messages from your iPhone, you may want to make sure that the "Start new conversations from:" option is set to your phone number and not your email address, as noted in the following article (the steps outlines are for another issue, but it provides a good illustration of these settings):
Use iMessage and FaceTime with multiple devices
Learn how to set up iMessage on multiple devices. The same steps apply when you set up FaceTime.
- Sign in to an Apple ID on your iPhone. You will see all addresses verified with the account.
- Tap an address to enable it on the device. The telephone number will be dimmed when you view these settings on an iPhone.
- If you don't want to use iMessage with your iPhone telephone number, tap Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
