PROBLEMS SOLVED!!!

Has the same problems. Before the messagge" applessd.sys etc.etc.", deleted the applessd.sys but non solve the problem becaus "Im having the same KB/Mouse issues. After removing the AppleSSD.sys files, I was able to get through most of the installation (with Wireless USB KB & Mouse working just fine). After restarting and getting to the Set Up Windows screen, to enter Username & Computer name Mouse and KB no longer work. I tried unplugging and replugging in to the back of my computer (27" iMac - 5k Retina mid 2015) but no changes"

I am using 27" iMac - 5k Retina and installing Windows 7 Professional. I bought product key and have tried to install it for days.

SUCCESS AT LAST!! Here's what you need: Windows 7 image, a USB 2.0 flash drive , and the Boot Camp drivers 5.1.5769 that i find in this link: Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5769 . They are hardware specific and available for download somewhere on the Apple Site. Here's what I did:

  1. Using Boot Camp Assistant, prepare the USB flash drive. Select the first two items and prepare the disk. Quit Boot Camp Assistant.
  2. From the Finder, delete the $WinPE$ and Boot Camp folders from the FLASH DRIVE.
  3. Expand the old Boot Camp drivers 5.1.5769 (two folders and another file) on your desktop.
  4. Copy the $WinPE$ and Boot Camp folders to the FLASH DRIVE.
  5. Reopen Boot Camp Assistant and select only the third option, install Windows 7.
  6. Sit back and relax as the installation proceeds.

Now the windows recognized my keyboard and mouse. The installation successufly. Perfect!

I hope this help will resolve your problem

Finally, I made it. As the suggestion of Viking, I misunderstood from the beginning. But many times I tried later, I downloaded the bootcamp from Apple site according to each model. It works perfectly.

For those who still cannot install can refer the guideline of Tooshy1554 which is just above my post.

Thank you guys so much. This topic is so helpful.

Tried this on a MacBook Air 13" early 2014 and it loaded but said it was not for this model. Went back and found version "Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640" that was for this model and that worked fine. For those interested it took 25gb for the Windows 7 Ultimate installation.

Just thinking here, but seems to me that the boot camp files I used originally were the ones in OS X Yosemite , which is the latest version just downloaded today. That was when the problems started and then I had to go and get another version of the boot camp files, so it would seem that this is an Apple software issue. It's unfortunate that there is still some software out there that only runs on Windows, maybe one day there will be versions for both Windows and Mac.

I'm not installing Windows 10... I am installing Windows 7. I used this exact same ISO, and had it installed before. This never happened until I upgraded to Yosemite.

I just wiped a W7 13-in 2012 MBP, and BCA downloaded 6.0.6133 BC drivers which has an unsigned AppleSSD.sys. Remove the AppleSSD folder from the $WinPEDriver$ folder and test your W7 installation.

Hi guys,

Do you think if we can repartition hard drive after installing the windows 10? I offered about 65 GB for Windows but only 17 GB left for it. Now I am in Windows 10 🙂

One more question, If I want to reinstall windows, do I need to type product key or I have to buy a new one?

Wish you guys have a good week ahead.

Thank you so much.

You guys are fantastic !!

Since beginning of July I was pestering again the fact that for sure the drivers had changed (and not for the good) as at the end of my Win 7 install I would not be able to login, because no electricity on the USB ports, and therefore no mouse neither keyboard.

That coupled to the AppleSSD.sys file error led me to this thread... and as you say "SUCCESS AT LAST" !!

What about AutoUnattend.xml ?

Should I use the the "old-version" from Boot Camp 5.xx for the stick or the new 6.xx one?

Both AutoUnattend.xml files work, but they are different.

There is not much difference between the two. (If you need the sdiff, you can run this via OSX Terminal).

diff AutoUnattend.xml /Volumes/WININSTALL/AutoUnattend.xml

This is awesomely bad. Why Apple is not and probably never will be a reliable enterprise worthy company. Hate Microsoft all you want, but this flat out just would not happen over in the Redmond camp. How do you release drivers and not sign them? That is basic and it has been a requirement since XP days. Even if you make that mistake, if you test it, you find it. That tells me this was never tested before it was released to the public, which is another gigantic mistake.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the info. I was finally able to install Win 7 Pro x64 on my Macbook Pro. However, I still encounter an issue. After installing bootcamp drivers, 200+ Windows updates, installing AV, setting up the system, etc., all of a sudden, the keyboard and trackpad would stop working. I have tried reinstalling Windows a couple of times, system restore, safe mode, reinstalling drivers via Parallels, etc. to no avail. Has anyone experienced this also? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi asakyo86,

Did you do correctly as Tooshy1054's instruction. In my case, I downloaded the bootcamp version that suits to my Macbook air. After installing successfully Windows 7, I installed over 200 updates for Windows 7 and got the icon of "Get windows 10". After that, just installed the windows 10.

You can check the bootcamp version of your macbook and try to reinstall windows 7.

I'M SO MOTHER F*CKING SICK OF THIS MOTHER F*CKING BULL CRAP! I HAVE SPENT TWO WHOLE F*CKING DAYS TRYING TO GET WINDOWS 7 ON MY PC SO I CAN UPGRADE IT TO WINDOWS 10! BUT APPLE DOESN'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SO THEY MAKE IT A GIANT PAIN IN THE *SS! THEY BLATANTLY IGNORE MAJOR ISSUES AND WHEN I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF I COULD CALL SUPPORT, IT COSTS $20+ TO CALL! ARE YOU MOTHER F*CKING KIDDING ME? WHAT F*CKING COMPANY DOES THAT! F*CK YOU APPLE! I HAVE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL WITH TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SUBSCRIBERS AND I WILL TRY MY HARDEST TO UPLOAD EVERY VIDEO I CAN TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE CAN PIRATE ANYTHING YOU TRY TO SELL! SCREW YOU AND GO TO H*LL!

Now that I'm done venting my frustration with this disgusting company (but I really will hold true to helping people pirate everything they can from apple if I can cost them thousands of dollars or even tens of thousands of dollars they deserve it). Can anyone tell me which of all the solutions I've read through this whole thread is the best one that I should go with? I tried two and both ended up having a problem. I will NEVER buy another apple product again. I'm just so done with this. I just want Windows on my Mac. Please someone help. I literally have never been so frustrated in my life.

sell apple, buy asus, use windows. What's the problem? 🙂 The bootcamp is not major issue for apple, it's only pain in *ss for us

All products have their place. Try working in a *nix environment with Windows. Desktop warriors can survive with Windows or Mac, but it is almost impossible in a Network environment.

Aug 20, 2015 7:21 AM in response to Loner T

and you're right. each task has it's own instrument to solve. Mac is best for work on my opinion, but it's ugly for gaming ( don't tell me about wine and other crap ). Windows is only gaming platform and ... nothing more. Linus is really good for servers. It's bad that bootcamp is not working now, but I will bought real windows computer and play in it.
