Export MPEG-2, but can not view in Quicktime

Hi,

So I needed to export an MPEG-2 HD Program Stream for TV broadcast. I created a custom setting for use in FCPX with the specs provided by the broadcast company. After export I am not able to preview this file properly in Quicktime. The file only opens an audio stream.

I remember this used to be a problem a long time ago and required the install of an MPEG-2 component for Quicktime. But I am running latest Yosemite and everything I have researched suggests that the latest QT should be able to playback this file properly.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Agree that you should be able to open and play in QT X. Will it play correctly in VLC?

Just downloaded VLC. Yes it plays correctly. At least I know that the file works in that before I send it to the broadcast company.

Good. You might want to check Software Installations in System Information to make sure you have the latest (2.0.1) Pro Video Formats. If not, it's here.
