Q: Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit Installation Error

Hi Everyone!!!

This post is regarding the installation of Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

I tried installing Windows 7 Pro ( 64 Bit ) On my Mac running the latest version of Mac OS X Yosemite.

I used Bootcamp Assistant and followed all the steps. Creating the .iso file , windows support software and also made a 150GB Partition.

Note that I have the ORIGINAL Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Software Installation Disc. I did NOT use any counterfeit version of Windows or any other third party software for the installation of Microsoft windows.

I used the Apple USB Superdrive to get the .iso file from the disc and did the installation steps.

Now , Windows.

While installing windows , I found that I had to format the partition that bootcamp had created for windows . That went well.

I installed windows and when my Mac reboots , I get this error saying that Windows was not able to start up. Because " Windows could verify the digital signature of the file " -- \windows\system32\drivers\AppleSSD.sys " error code - 0xc0000428 . I don't know HOW this happens and I have tried installing windows about 4-5 times now and every time , I get that annoying error despite BOOTCAMP downloading the Windows Support Files.

FYI , My Trackpad and Keyboard work Perfectly

When using Bootcamp I got a message that said I had to install windows & support files later . -- Could this be the problem??

If so , then how do I install the "support files" ?

I would really appreciate it if some one could help me out on this.

Thanks a Bunch!!!

Matt

Did you copy BootCamp 5.1 to USB? When you click that file it does not EXTRACT it just opens normally and you can see the files inside?

When I downloaded it from apple it was a zip file. It was so long ago I forget if I manually extracted it or it did it automatically. Anyway, after the extraction the zip file went into the recycle bin. When you click on the Bootcamp 5 directory you could see all the files. Like I said just copy the files underneath the Bootcamp 5 directory to the bootable USB (for anyone else reading this post).

I had the same problem before, it won't see the USB. Even if you uninstall USB & try to update it, it does not work. You can't even go online. It is like a loop, you fix something and you breaking something else. Lucky enough I am running Windows on Parallels now. They will fix this much later, they are focused on releasing "CAPTAIN". Our problem is not an emegency.

I have a key for Windows 7, maybe you misunderstood me I meant if you do a clean install for Windows 10 you will need a key but update for Windows 7 you don't need a key. I am sorted with key for Windows 7.

I have installed W7 now 4 times, and no luck at all with this problem, the other problems have been sorted with the setup.exe from bootcamp,

There is way around to access network from Parallels & VirtualBox? Are you on a network at work? I could even print directly from Mac. What sorts programs are you running? Sollutions are already there you don't have to be on BootCamp anymore to run most programs & print.

A SMC reset forces the devices and hardware to be re-discovered. Windows (in most Macs prior to Late 2013 models) uses a BIOS emulation layer (CSM-BIOS) which also gets refreshed with device trees and firmware information. This should help the Windows Device Driver database to rebuilt and the BCD updated as necessary. It does not 'harm' you Mac or Windows installation.

What are the devices are shown under overige apparaten ?

'overige apparaten'  that is probably my printer, as it is the only thing attached to my computer at the moment. I shall give your advice a shot and see what happens, fingers crossed, and everything else lol

    Hi Misty53,

    Windows1.jpg

I am running both Windows 7 & 10 within the Mac inviroment one on a VirtualBox which is free and Parallels which is a paid one. To hook up printers you go and get IP address of your network printer and connect to it. I have no problems with running Windows within Mac OS. That is why I am saying BootCamp for me was just for playing I don't really need it anymore.

Almost anything does run on VirtualBox within Windows 7 - 8.1 and Parallels I have been able to install Windows 7  all the way to Windows 10.

Do you really need BootCamp? I don't think so. For speed? My computer with 16 gb of Ram you can see I can even open Windows 7 & 10 with no problem.

Still not working, I really do not understand this, now thinking maybe try installing windows 8.1 and see if that resolves this issue. I shall let you know if that works
