How do I get non Itunes music onto my iphone?

Every since I signed up for Apple music and have the iCloud library turned on I cannot get any non itunes music from my computer onto my phone. I like to download DJ mixes off of soundcloud and have never had any problem getting them on my phone until I turned the icloud library on. If I turn it off it says I lose all of the Apple music downloads. When I click on the file in the iTunes library it gives me the option to add to my iphone however when I click on it it never actually goes onto my iphone. Doesn't give me any reason as to why not... It just doesn't happen. Is there any way around this?

There is a brand new iOS release out now, 8.4.1, which resolves a lot of Music issues per the release notes. Install that, either by Wi-Fi or through iTunes (iTunes usually the best but this one is a small update so Wi-Fi should be fine). It should help you.

I updated my phone however it did not resolve the issue. I am still not able to put non itunes music onto my phone.

I believe if you are using Apple Music and iCloud Library, you have to upload music to that to be able to try and get it on the phone. You don't have the option to sync music from your iTunes library when signed up for those services. I'm not exactly sure, as I'm not using the service, but I know that I can still use my regular iTunes library. All other posts I've read regarding using Apple Music and iCloud library make it sound as if you do not have the option to use your regular library any longer.

I think Chris is correct, if you subscribe to Apple Music and iCloud Library you don't have the option of syncing music from iTunes like in the past. Like Chris I do not use those services as this would be a big drawback for me. I have a large CD collection and would not want to loose the ability to rip and sync my music. I am now running 8.4.1 and I don't have any problems syncing but I don;t have Apple Music enabled. Sorry.... 😟

It's pretty annoying because I actually really like Apple music and have gotten many songs from it but it's kind of stupid that I cannot put my own files on my device anymore
