I had an iPhone 6 but got a new one due to accident, the old one worked fine on my work wifi, the new one connects to wifi but social media apps will not connect, wifi has not changed at work, all that changed is my phone, is there a setting that is off or something? can anyone help with this issue?

What social media apps? What happens when you try to connect? Can you access the internet at all while on this work Wi-Fi? What troubleshooting have you tried?
i accidentally hit solved, Facebook twitter, yes internet works, i have just started to read up on vpn that is all so far
If you are reading up on VPN, that is implying that you are located somewhere that does not allow social media apps natively on your internet connection? Is this the case? Do others have iPhones that work on your work wi-fi? If so, can you do a comparison of the model numbers? Did you have an old phone that was not designed for the area you are now in, but do have one designed for their now?
yep its just me that is blocked, i brought my phone to the apple store to get a cracked screen fixed, they ended up giving me a new phone, i think the new one is a refurb or made with used parts? can that have something to do with it? no other issues with the phone

No, refurbished phones are made with new parts. They are more extensively tested than new phones. That would have nothing to do with it. I suggest you check with work to find out if they have any MAC address filtering, or other reasons why you cannot connect to certain sites. They have the ability to see what is going on with their network. It doesn't make sense that you can access the internet but not certain sites. Do you see any error message at all when attempting to connect to these apps?

are you able to get on Facebook with Safari? Or, is it just the app that is not working? Exact network error? Network not available, or something different? Have you tried signing out of Twitter and back in again? Have you attempted to access either of those from another Wi-Fi network, such as home, a friend, or somewhere like a coffee shop or other public Wi-Fi?
it does not work in safari and as far as apps go i tried to sign out of twitter and back in and it would not work (OSStatus error-9806) same with Facebook (error code 1200) yes when on wifi in app it says re-establishing lost connection then network error, they work fine at home wifi and other places
The simple fact that it works fine on your home wifi and cellular points to something blocking your secure connections on your work wifi. No iphone hardware problem like that exists. If reset network settings and reconnect will not help, you need to address that at your work network support.
If this is working for you in other places, it is not a phone error. This has something to do with your work network. Contact your IT department to see if there are restrictions in place that would be preventing you from accessing social network sites.
