Please help. The only icon I see is the one that prompts me to do the installation, but that was done already. Where and how do I open the application or website? Thanks so much in advance.

If you double-clicked an installer, choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu.
If you double-clicked a dmg file, choose Computer from the Finder's Go menu.
If you downloaded anything without opening it, choose Downloads from the Finder's Go menu and then double-click it.

Hi
1) Click on "go" on the menubar at the top , then click applications and it will be in there.
2) Click the little Magnifying Glass Top Right then start typing "Google Earth" it will pop up and you can click to open it 🙂
