Podcast help please.....

Hi Guys,

Im trying to get a podcast into the iTunes store so it can receive downloads / subscribers, I submitted it 5 days ago and received the email, but no follow up email to say it had been accepted / rejected ? I take it, it was rejected. I have posted the RSS feed below, can someone maybe shed any light where I am going wrong ??

It can take two weeks, sometimes more, for a podcast to be evaluated, so it's just a question of waiting. As you received the email confirming the submission you've passed the initial tests.

There are two potential issues. Your podcast image URL begins with https - this may or may not be a problem, but really it should be http.

Your episode consists of 'mixes', presumably of commercially issued recordings. Unless you have full written permission from both the recording companies and the artists this constitutes a breach of copyright and is likely to get you rejected.

However at this stage there is nothing to do except wait.

Roger, no sooner had you wrote this that I received the rejection email. So my 2 potential issues : The podcast URL - I use a site called Podomatic to host the podcasts, is there anyway I can amend the address to not contain the extra (s) ?

The mixes concept are all commercial recordings / tracks bought from iTunes or beatport but there are plenty of these dj mixes on ITunes podcast directory ? - I don't believe all the artists on there have full written permission for every track played by every artist so they must be getting around this another way ?? Is there anything else I can do on the points above ?

Thanks again for all your help....

Doing this is a breach of copyright. There are as you say plenty of cases of people who have got away with it (so far) but that doesn't alter the fact that Apple do not allow this. There is such a thing as 'podcast free music' - Google that to find out more: you can use these songs freely. (I can't answer for whether you would want to).

As to the https matter you would have to take that up with Podomatic. You could try just taking the 's' off and checking whether it still works - it may do so, or it may revert to the https version.
