FCPX Video glitches in the timeline??

I am getting glitches in the video in all my projects in FCPX.

Some are like a green bar across the entire screen

Some are a WHITE rectangle, may 1" x 1/4" a a random spot on the screen

They appear randomly

They also export to any share, whether it be Master File, Apple Devices, etc.

They do not exist in the original video

If I delete all the render files, and re-render, some are gone, some come back at different spots in the videos.

MacPro4,1

5770 video card

Latest version FCPX

Any ideas?

I found the issue with this (sorry I forgot to post the answer in a timely manner)

Apparently, then the cache file is located on a RAID, it can become corrupted.

When I deleted the cache and moved it to a non-RAID drive, the problem goes away.

I confirmed this by deleting the cache on the RAID, and let it build another cache on the RAID. When it does, after a few weeks the corruption happens again.

Click on the Library, then look at the inspector for that library.

You'll see (about half way down) the information for the Cache. It will give you the location of your cache files.

I've found the simplest way to move it, is to :

1) Close FCP X

2) Go to where the inspector showed the cache was located... find it... delete it... then delete the trash

3) Open FCP X

4) Go back to inspector and edit the location of the cache to wherever you want it to be

Done
