How do I listen to music in one tab and surf on a separate one?

I have an iPod Touch 5.

When in safari, I like to listen to some band music recordings while also doing other things in a seperate tab.

However, my music comes up as a video and when close the video screen that pops up, the music stops. I have also tried exiting the video screen, opening the new tab I want, and then swiping up to et the multitask bar and pressing play. But this just brings back my music video screen and prevents me from being on that new tab that I want.

Is there a way to listen music and surf at the same time on iPod safari?
