iMac Video Ram problem

My iMac G5 ,OS X and Mac OS 9, 2005 model Screen display suddenly goes berserk
with various colours, stripes, patterns and blotchy lines going all over the place.
Did a Mac Help and followed the test instructions resulting with a Video Ram problem
with a error message 2AT1/3/4: xxxxx-117.
Any suggestions where I go from here?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.0.x)

You buy a new or used machine. It's over 10-years old and led a long life.

27" i7 iMac (Mid 2011) refurb, OS X Yo (10.10.4), Mavs, ML & SL, G4 450 MP w/10.5 & 9.2.2

You may have a problem with the video chip.

Here is how to tell...

Shutdown your machine. Hold down the shift key. Poweron. Bootup will be longer.

Wait awhile while you harddrive is being checked.

Runs OK in safe mode...

Running in Safe mode leaves out some video drivers. Which results in your machine not using advanced video hardware. As luck would have it, you can run the safe mode video drivers in normal mode.

Here is how:

Look through the above thread. See the second page. You don't have to read through the first page. Just go to the part where I try a solution that works.

Using the safe mode video driver results in these limitiations:

-- OpenGL acceleration is not supported on this mac

-- Your mac lacks quartz extreme acceleration
