I have an Airport Extreme with the 2TB drive and use a total of 6 computers in my workgroup.
We have two MacBook Pro's, 3 Desktop (1 Windows 7, and two Windows 10 upgrades from W8),
and a PC/Laptop that has a factory image of Windows 10 out of the box, a.k.a. "Y7" (this ismy
main computer and is used across all platforms for testing and sharing!
When our machines were upgraded to Windows 10 (Ver. 1511) all of the connectivity to the AE
went south from the Windows based PC's.
Sometimes you could move a JPG from a MacBook to a PC and be denied access to the file upon
attempting to open, and sometimes leaving it overnight would resolve the issue. No amount of re-boot
and/or logout would help.
On to Y7 . . .it will "NOT" see any Apple/MAC devices since 1511 was installed. I even went so far
as to do a factory recover to the original release. That allowed me to at least see the Apple attached
devices, but left me with security issues on several connections. Once I upgraded to Release 1511
is when items disappeared again . . .including the network access to the storage drive on the AE/
The problems are a joint issue between APPLE and MICROSOFT . . . they need to get shoulder to
shoulder and work these things out!
My only, sadly, resolution is to dump the AE and go to a non-Apple type of router. I must have good
connectivity across the platform and I need to keep "all" of my devices up-2-date as we are a local
computer service/support entity!
My attached pictures show the OEM Windows 10 install shows the MACBOOK attached and it actually
has the "Z" drive for storage. The same machine with Windows 10 v1511 doesn't show the MACBOOK
or the "Z" drive. I did nothing to manipulate these connections after the v1511 update (other than try to
connect) and have come to my conclusion based on this.

All of this testing and validation was done Dec-07-2015 thru Dec-09-2015 and done without any techie
type of bias/prejudice towards any outcome.
.Time for another router!
