Q: The Time Zones

Ok, so now I have 3 questions in total regarding time zone setting in iPhone.

First of all, I am currently in Hong Kong, but I will study in the UK this September. I would like to set some of my events in the Calendar app to the UK time zone while I currently have my time settings in HK. I know there is something called the Time Zone override, but how exactly does it work? I tried turning it on and setting it to London, but no obvious difference.

Second of all, is there anything similar to the Reminders app? I would really like to make some Reminders to UK time. And by the way, for the Reminders widget, why can I only see Reminders that I have specific times set, but not things without?

Third and last, is there any settings in the Settings app that can change my phone to the UK settings without erasing any set data in my iPhone? Simply put, can I make my iPhone change its region, iTunes/Apps Store, time, everything into the UK settings?

I know this has been a huge mouthful, but thanks in advance even if you are not able to answer all of them. Thanks so much!

I don't really know the answers to your other questions. I think that the reminder and calendar times will change with the region. You may want to try installing third party calendar and reminder apps from the app store if you can find some that don't sync and see if you can keep the time zones different. I'm sure others will also have input to share.

I don't want ios/osx messing around with the times of calendar appointments, as I know perfectly well what time zone I will be in.  To set this up, I set a fixed time zone in  Date & Time on all mobile devices; time zone override in calendar seems to be off by default.  Chaos has ensued.  I've just got back from a trip across just one time zone, and my meeting times have been shifted by 12 hours, sometimes now showing up on the wrong day.   When I enter a time into my calendar (always in the time zone where the meeting will take place) can I set ios/osx just to leave it alone?
