Q: Bluetooth is unavailable

After updating to Yosemite 10.10.5, the bluetooth of my macbook pro is unavailable.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Hi, all. This problem was solved after I shutdown my mac and restart. I guess shutting down and restarting the computer helped the updated operating system to refresh the hardware configuration and the Bluetooth driver. Thanks every!

Open System Preferences > Bluetooth then click: Turn Bluetooth On

If that didn't work, the Bluetooth preferences may be corrupted after the v10.10.5 update.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist

Click Go then move the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file to the Trash.

Then go back to System Preferences > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth On.

I have the same issue. Neither an SMC or PRAM reset resolved the issue. Apple told me I have a hardware issue even though the problem occurred with the upgrade. I have no issues with bluetooth prior to this upgrade.

While holding down the option/alt key, go to  menu/System Information. Does Bluetooth show there?
