Having some problems with Airdrop

Hi everyone.

I'm having some problems with Airdrop. In fact, it is very common that I can't see my iPhone from my Macbook Pro 15" Retina and vice versa. I'm running the latest version of Yosemite and iOS, having Airdrop activated on the two devices but I automatically have to reboot my iPhone for my Macbook to find it and the iPhone really doesn't always find the Macbook.

What do I do wrong? Is that a common problem?

I'm using Instashare (an app from the App Store for the same exact purpose) simply and without any problems.

Thank you.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1

Hello 16bitSuperhero,

If you are having intermittent issues using AirDrop with your iPhone and MacBook Pro, take a look at the following articles to ensure the requirements, setup, and process you are following is correct:

Use AirDrop to send files from your Mac to another nearby Mac or iOS device - Apple Support
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203106

Share content with AirDrop from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204144

Just for testing purposes, would it be possible to uninstall the Instashare app, then follow the steps above to test AirDrop?

Regards,
