If I understand correctly, you're using Apple Music with your iPhone and you want to ensure that an album you purchased is available on the device when it is not connected to the Internet. The article below provides a lot of great information about Apple Music, including information that will help you listen to the album when your device is offline.
Add music from the Apple Music catalog to your library - Apple Support
Save songs, albums, and playlists to listen offline
You can save songs, albums, or playlists to listen to when you're not connected to the Internet.* You must save songs, albums, or playlists on each device that you want to use for offline listening.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
- In the Music app, find the item that you want to save.
- Tap the More Options icon
to the right of the song, album, or playlist name. - Tap Make Available Offline.
Songs and albums appear under My Music > Library. Playlists appear under My Music > Playlists
Cheers.

Aug 16, 2015 3:06 PM in response to Jason Lby gslt,I'm having problems with the music showing on my phone. It's playing just fine on my laptop but it's greyed out on my iPhone. Is this the same issue?

Aug 17, 2015 9:01 AM in response to Jason Lby Robin Reed1,I wasn't using Apple Music, I was just trying to get an album I purchased onto my iPhone. The new iTunes doesn't seem to sync the way it always has. Or maybe Apple Music has screwed everything up. I will be happy when the three month trial is over and it goes away. (I have already set it to end when the trial ends. Anyway, somehow the album did end up on the phone after I backed the phone up to my iMac. I don't know how I did it.
