No more identifying the audio port as an input??!!?
I Have a 2014 Mac Pro running Yosemite OS. I can no longer Identify the audio port as an input for recording.
Why is that? I never had that issue with the 2012 model. Thanks for any help.

Notebook or desktop? what processor speed? what screen size? what MacBook Pro 9,3 designation?
It doesn't have built-in audio input, except from an iPhone headset. You need an external digitizer.
If you have the black trashcan Mac Pro desktop (it is referred to late 2013 since that is when it was introduced and it has not been updated since then) the it only has the headphone ports fro a native audio in as Link Dvis said. See;

You can use a USB audio adopter
