Photos rebuilded only half of the photos - how to rebuild the other half?

I've deleted (by accident) my Photos library file, size 8,8 GB. 😝

I found on this forum how to rebuild library - option + command on the Photos app - and it really rebulided my photos - but just half of them - 4,4 GB.

Now, I see on my Macbook Storage that there is 8,8GB of photos but I only see those 4,4 GB. I don't have any other photos on the mac, I use external hard for that. So that must be those pictures.

Do you know how can I find the missing photos?

Additional info:

- when I option+command the Photos app, I don't get the dialoge window with multiple options, as I've seen on this forum, it just starts to rebuild

- when I tried to option+command the iPhotos app, it cannot be done, because I don't have the latest version. I've try downloading it for the Store, but it cannot be done.

repairing the database has nothing to do with recovering a deleted library

To recover a deleted library you must restore your backup from before it was deleted

If you recently migrated from iPhoto you can also migrate again (nothing done since the migration will be there but you will have your old iPhotos library again in Photos - to do this drag the iphoto library to the photos icon in the Dock

Photos does not have multiple rebuild options - only one to repair the database - iphoto has several depending on the version of iPhoto that you have

and iPhoto still works just fine if you are up to date with version 9.6.1 - if you do not keep your system up to date see Can't Update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store
