Aug 15, 2015 10:06 AM in response to anakondam9by Meg St._Clair,If someone has physical access to your phone and is able to jailbreak it, yes, possibly. If you keep your phone secure, put a passcode on it, activate Find My iPhone, and don't try to download apps from any source other than the Apple Store, you really have nothing to worry about.

Aug 15, 2015 10:23 AM in response to anakondam9by elcpu,While Meg's suggestions above are all great (certainly put a Passcode and activate Find my iPhone) I have never hear of any viruses on iOS devices UNLESS they are jailbroken which I am pretty sure you did not do. So you should be safe, that is one of the many advantages of iPhones. Phishing attacks are another matter, never respond to a text or Safari pop up threatening you with "junk" if you don't respond. They are all a scam to try and trick you to enter personal information. If you get one of those in Safari just clear the cookies, i.e., clear History and Website Data for extra insurance.

The idea is to keep your phone safe from being jailbroken by someone with nefarious intent.
