Q: Will Apple support Windows 10 on an older iMac 27 mid 2011 in the future

I have an iMac 27, 2.7 Core i5, mid 2011. I learned, after an unsuccessful install of Windows 10 that my machine is not supported. I was able to uninstall Windows 10 and recover Windows 7 successfully. Does Apple have any intentions of making BootCamp and this machine so it will support Windows 10?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

We are users like you. We have no insight into what Apple will do. And the TOU of this community do not allow speculation regarding Apple's future plans.

You can use a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox rather than using Boot Camp.

I'm not sure it is fair to say that it isn't supported now. It works fine for me, and at least one other, as you can read in this thread. I did not mention it in that thread, but my 27" mid-2011 iMac has a Core i7 processor, but I have no idea if that is significant or not.

It is fair to say it is not supported. Here is the list of supported computers.

From Use Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support

Mac computers that support Windows 10

The following Mac models support 64-bit versions of Windows 10 when installed using Boot Camp. Use About This Mac to see which Mac you have, then check this list to see if it supports Windows 10.
