Q: fans going at top speed and killing battery

Recently whenever I turn my computer on the fans kick into high speed and become obnoxiously loud. The battery life is also terrible now, I lost 15% in something like four minutes from not running any apps, just sitting there. First I tried putting it to sleep, it didn't do anything. Then I tried shutting it down and restarting it, and as soon as it turns on the fans kick back in. I tried the SMC reset several times, it did nothing to help. I opened activity monitor to see if anything was taking too much of the CPU, but all is working fine, and like I said it does this even when I first turn the computer on and haven't opened anything yet. I'm pretty lost and I would love to figure out something I could do at home to help instead of paying to have it fixed, any ideas? Could it be that the fans are clogged up or something? I have used it outside a few times recently.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
