Because the computers have different content to be seen. How do I get content from itunes (not purchased on line) on screen using home sharing?
Just make sure that both iTunes Applications are using the same ID for home sharing. They will then both show under the computers option on the Apple TV screen.
Know this may sound stupid but where do I enter computer 2 family member into the application of computer 1 family membe. I see that #1 is the main computer and #2 was identified in itunes for purchased items using a new id for remote but cannot figure out how to get #2 playlists etc recognized
iTunes > file > home sharing.
Set iTunes on both computers to use the same ID (the one being used by the Apple TV for homesharing), regardless of the ID used for iTunes.
So if him and her have their own iTunes accounts on their own computers and use (say) him@yahoo and her@icloud for their iTunes account. Then the should use (say) him@yahoo for his home sharing set up, him@yahoo for her home sharing set up and him@yahoo for the Apple TV home sharing set up
(actually, they could use her@icloud too so long as it's used on all there devices.
