Downgrade iPod Touch 5th Gen from iOS 8.4 to 8.3 or earlier

Recently "updgraded" my iPod 5th Gen to iOS 8.4. Let's just say I am not happy and leave it at that. Has anyone been able to successfully revert back to 8.3 or earlier versions of iOS for the iPod Touch 5th Gen ? Please, no responses telling me downgrades are never a good thing.

Like I said in my original post, I don't need a lecture about downgrading. Downgrading may not be a good idea in your book, but if an "upgrade" gets rids of functionality that a particular user happens to have enjoyed, a downgrade option would be a good thing. Besides, I am very aware of the whole upgrade process with respect to computer, electronics, etc. "Upgrades" are normally done to correct issues, provide better functionality, address user concerns. With that said, upgrades occasionally introduce new problems or reduced functionality. I've been around the block with respect to computers. I have over 25 years in the business with NCR, IBM, Cisco, NetApp, etc. I've seen first hand what "upgrades" do so next time save your opinions and either provide help or don't bother responding.

When restoring an iPod iTunes checks to make sure that you are installing the latest version. Apple does this by "signing" the iOS version. Apple stopped signing 8.3 months ago so all you get is an error when you try restoring using iOS 8.3 firmware.

If you see Error 3194, Error 17, or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' in iTunes - Apple Support

I didn't miss any point. You missed the point of my original post. A simple response from you stating "Apple doesn't typically do downgrades" would have been sufficient. You added in your opinion that downgrades are never a good thing and that would be true if the upgrades were not doing by human beings doing the upgrades. As you already know by now, human beings make mistakes, some of which show up after updating firmware, microcode, programs, applications, etc.
