If you tried updating the iPad and it tells you it is up to date (iOS 5.1.1), you may be mistaken about your iPad being an iPad 2 and you may in fact have a iPad 1st generation. The iPad 1st gen cannot be updated past iOS 5.1.1. The iPad 2 can be updated to the most current iOS version which is iOS 8.4.1. If your iPad has no camera lens on the backside, you have an iPad 1st generation and not an iPad 2.

Exactly what iOS version are you on? Your device list states iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1. Check for certain under Settings/General/About/Version.
