I need a Mac compatible digital audio recorder
I need to replace cassette tape technology in order to send digital "letters" across the ocean. What I am looking for is a way to speak in sections of time, say 10 minutes on the way to work, then 15 minutes on the way to the grocery store, then 30 minutes while I fold laundry and in the end, combine all these files into one folder to share on dropbox.
My friend has been able to do this with a sony digital recorder. However, Sony has decided that they do not want to support Mac users and the software that would allow me to combine several files will not work on a Mac.
Does anyone have any suggestions of a digital recorder that will allow this, non-professional grade? I don't need super high sound quality, anything will be better than the cassette tapes we have used for 25 years.
And I would rather not pay $400 for it.
I appreciate any help and advice.
Thanks,
iMac G5 (17-inch), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
