Hi. I am using my iMac Intel, and I inserted a new DVD, so I can record some stuff. Unfortunately, I can't see any disk in the Finder nor in Trash. Please help me.

You have to save the file(s) you want onto the computer then burn them to the DVD. Perhaps you can explain in more detail what you are attempting to do.

OK. I am trying to burn a disc using an app that I downloaded from the Internet called Burn. It burns anything to a disc. I want to download some songs onto a new DVD, but when I inserted the DVD, nothing appeared in the Trash, nor in the Finder. When I have done this before, I can see the disc, but now I can't.
And also, if the DVD appears on Finder or Trash, does it mean that it has been used?
Open Finder>Preferences>click Sidebar tab: under Devices make sure all boxes are checked. Does the DVD drive show up now?
Thanks, but i can't find my Preferences in Finder.
Open Finder...look at the menu bar at top of screen, it should say Finder to the right of the small Apple logo. Click on the word "Finder".
Preferences is the second option on the drop down menu that cascades downward
Look in the uppermost left corner of your screen with Finder open. Do you see the black Apple with the word "Finder" immediately to the right of the apple? If so, I want you to click on that word Finder then Preferences in the drop down menu that opens, then click on a tab called Sidebar .
yes, i found it, but not the disc. wait for a few moments please. and i will tell you if i find it.
Take your time...you'll need to click on the Sidebar tab inside Preferences
P.S: thanks OT ;-)
i am using a DVD-R AND I WILL MAKE A NEW USER. I WILL TELL YOU GUYS LATER ON THIS DISCUSSION. AND HOW DO YOU LOCK DISCUSSIONS?
Is your DVD drive built into your Mac or an external drive attached to your Mac via USB cable?
I don't think we have the ability to lock discussions...no worries..reply or ask questions as needed.
Actually I meant the physical drive itself but your screenshot of Disk Utility shows you have a SuperDrive which could either be built in to your Mac or in an external box that sits on your desk. Can you let us know if the slot you insert the DVD into is built into the side of your Mac or in a small external box that sits beside your Mac.
