Lost ability to extend extreme with express

Extreme extended to 2 Express in the house worked fine for over a year...now both Express have blinking amber and not recognized by the Extreme...tried the factory reset of the Express...no joy. How do I get the Extreme to "see" the Express on the net? They are sitting next to each other as I try to rebuild. Extreme is working fine.

A blinking amber status LED would be normal after performing a "factory default" reset on your AirPort Express base stations. This would be telling you that some additional configuration settings would be needed. That is because, this type of reset will return the base station to its original "out-of-the-box" configuration. Which is an Internet router that is broadcasting an unsecured Wi-Fi network with a network name of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN.

What are the exact model numbers of each of your AirPort base stations? Also what are you using (computer or iOS device) to administer these base stations? Please provide the OS X, Windows, or iOS versions of each as well.
