How do I remove "MegaBackup" malware?

I was installing updates and accidentally installed some Malware. I've removed everything except I cannot delete this "MegaBackup." When I try to send it to the trash it says "cannot be deleted because MegaBackup is running", however I have closed it. Can anyone help?

Here's what I did:

1) Open Finder, select Downloads on the left, drag the software package that contained MegaBackup to the trash and delete it.

2) Back to Finder, in the search window, enter "megabackup" and press enter. Drag the file to the trash; a pop up window offers services for $1. Select "no thanks" in tiny print on the left side of the pop up. Empty the trash.

3) Check Lauchpad that it's gone.

It worked for me. Good luck!

i opened two windows side by side. One with finder with the Applications folder showing and the Activities monitor in the other. In the activities monitor I force quitted MegaBackup. I then went to the Applications window and immediately drug the MegaBackup app to the trash can before it could reinitiate itself. I got a message window asking me if if this is what i want and I said yes ofcourse.

Here's what I did when I downloaded mac keeper and mega backup by mistake. I firstly uninstall both applications I then phoned apple and the guy on the phone talked me through the process of getting rid of all junk that was on my mac. It was the best and easiest way to make sure that everything from these downloads was gone as well as any other junk files on my mac. I can't thank apple enough and especially the guy I spoke too. I have also emailed the company's and asked for a refund since I stupidly paid for a 2 year plan. It would be nice to get the money back but was more important to make sure my mac was clean of any viruses or malware.

I hope this is helpful
