My I-pod Touch is 4th 0r 5th generation and has iOS 4.2.1, I check the upgrades and find I am fully up to speed, however I want to download an app (Amazon Prime music) which needs iOS7 can I upgrade and how?

You would need an iPod 5 which can be updated to the latest version of iOS.
Thanks for the response, I am not sure of the generation (4th or 5th) but I do know that it is 8gb not 2, does this help

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. The 4G is the first tohave cameras. A 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

lllaass was referring to the generation, not the storage. You have an 8GB iPod 2.
