Error Trying to Restore a DMG Image to a Raid Set

I set a RAID 1 (mirroring) with 2 250Gb SSD on a mini mac, using Disk Utilities.

Now I'm trying to restore a dmg image to this raid set and get this error:

RESTORE FAILURE

could not restore - operation not supported

This image a made from a mountain lion that was running in one of this ssd, that now I'm using on this raid.

I already try to restore to another ssd just to test (the ssd and the image) and works fine.

What did i do wrong ?

tks

That's what I did. but doesn't work.

Now I'm trying something very strange, at least the restore start =)

First I made the raid.

after I restored the dmg image in one of ssd part of the raid.

So my system works fine in one hd, and still have a raid but degraded.

Now I'm start the restore from this ssd and my destination is this raid degraded. The error RESTORE FAILURE doesn't appers =)

After finish this test (more 11 minutes) I will boot from this raid to see if my MacOs starts. If everything works fine, i will erase the other ssd and put again on this raid set.

I was running disk utlity from a yosemite installer in a usb memory stick

So any of hard disks wasn't "running". I think that I found a bug in this process.

After a lot of tests and never can start the image restore to raid volume, I made what describe in my last post.

made the raid

restore the dmg image to one of raid disk (so the raid became degraded)

restore from this ssd alone disk to the raid degraded

erase this alone disk

demote the "old" disk from raid

add this "new" disk

rebuilt the raid1

Works perfectly !
