Does the Apple TimeCapsule support connection to a Apple Express via CAT-6A?

I have the Apple Airport Time Capsule (2 TB drive) and a Apple Airport Express.

I have connected then about 45 feet (15 meters) apart using CAT-6A cabling.. They worked fine for a few weeks, then when i had to reboot my TC, I heard a sharp crackel-pop a few seconds after cycling power to the TC.

Now I tested the cat-6a cable and all is ok.

But I get no link lights from either end of the connection. I tried different ports and still nothing.

If I use a CAT-5 cable everything is working again.

Is there something about these APPLE products that does not support CAT-6A?

Apple products work just fine with CAT-6A cables. Is the cable in question directly connected at both base station ports or are you using anything between them? Like an Ethernet switch or an Ethernet patch panel?

FWIW, I run CAT-6A throughout my home. They are on dedicated circuits via a patch panel at the router and terminate at wall outlets. I purposely do NOT use combination data/voice outlets to prevent any land-line voltage from the data lines.
